What Is LA GATOR Scholarship Program?

LA GATOR (Giving All True Opportunity to Rise) is Louisiana's first education savings account, replacing the former voucher-only Louisiana Scholarship Program. Funds are held in an Odyssey account and can be spent across a much wider range of approved expenses than the old program allowed, including tutoring.

Important: Meeting eligibility doesn't guarantee funding — the number of funded accounts depends on the annual state budget. In 2025–26, over 39,000 students applied but funding covered roughly 12,000. Apply as early as possible when the window opens (typically March).
